If you work with me, I will listen carefully to your concerns and help you make sense of the things that are holding you back or causing you pain. I am an integrative psychotherapist who works with adults, both for short term and long-term work. Integrative means that I adapt my way of working according to your personality and concerns, drawing on a variety of psychological and creative theories, as we are all unique and need different things at different times in our lives. I believe in clients setting their own pace in the work and being experts in their own experience. I see my role as a facilitator to help you expand, grow or adapt and feel more confident in believing in yourself. To deepen this process, for some clients it can help to explore issues safely through using art, imagination and dreams. This way of working can be particularly useful if you find it difficult to articulate your feelings in words, or perhaps conversely, if words keep you ‘stuck in your head’ in repetitive thinking patterns.

My previous career in international marketing management in two different countries has given me a deep appreciation of life's challenges when transitioning between different cultures, careers and ways of life. I am interested in working with issues around identity and self-esteem and how major life changes affect us in who we are and how we cope with things. In addition to being a psychotherapist, I am also an artist. My experience of the creative process has taught me the value of different forms of communication and the wisdom of unspoken expression through the body, art works, dreams or fantasies. I incorporate this into my work where appropriate. I am Dutch and have lived in the UK for over 20 years.
