My Approach

I am here to listen to your story. Not the one that others have handed down to you, but rather the one that feels true to you, even if you are not sure it is worth being listened to.

I am here to listen to your story. Not the one that others have handed down to you, but rather the one that feels true to you, even if you are not sure it is worth being listened to.

I think with you about how your past might affect the present, I help you to find meaning and I can be alongside you in your grief. I might also invite you, if it feels comfortable, to give attention to what is happening in your body when you are talking about something. I consider the body a remarkable access point into insight.

What is created through therapy is a relationship. I therefore use the relationship we build together as a doorway into understanding other relationships in your life.

My hope is that through working with me you will get to know yourself better and, in doing so, come into greater contact with your vitality, creativity and empowerment.

I grew up in the UK in a bilingual household and have often worked with people living outside of the country they call home. This has made me sensitive to the complexity of cultural identity, the impact of marginalisation, and the experiences of ‘otherness’ or ‘foreignness’.

My early studies were in languages and literature. I once considered pursuing a career in academia, but I wanted to work in something with a perceivable social impact. When I found psychotherapy I realised I could marry my interests in theoretical thinking and human relationships, putting them to practical application.

I endeavour to investigate my biases and I am deeply respectful of difference. I welcome people of every gender identity, sexuality, background, or relationship style.
