Deep Work Sessions for Writers: Space for your writing practice

Join us for a new iteration of our deep work sessions for writers series. In today’s over-distracted and busy world, finding time and space for deep work can be challenging. Writers know that “the book won’t write itself” but often find it difficult to create the conditions to support regular periods of uninterrupted, mindfully present writing time.
An additional series of deep work sessions will be supervised by Sebastian Kola-Bankole. Sebastian attended our first series of Mindful Deep Work for Writers in the Autumn of 2018, and was inspired by the amount of creative work he was able to achieve. Sebastian has now been invited to run his own group on Tuesdays to allow more people access to these quiet, deep work sessions.
The rules are simple: mobile devices are left outside - laptops are allowed, but wifi must be turned off. After a brief welcoming, we will quietly write, simply supported by others quietly writing around us. The subject of your writing is up to you, fiction, non-fiction, academic, or journal - the aim is to get words down on paper. This is not a writing workshop, we will not share and critique - but we will mindfully support each other to engage in the necessary deep work to bring our projects alive.
A parallel group meets on Fridays (2-5pm), facilitated by mindfulness practitioner and Stillpoint Spaces therapist Paul Christelis. These work sessions are free to members of Stillpoint Spaces London. Non members may join for £18.50 a session. Membership of this group is limited to 8, so please book early.
The workshop will take place weekly on Tuesdays, from 10am-1pm.
